Mind4Youth co-hosted a HeartCare event in Washington D.C. for the first time! We partnered with Howard University’s Models of the Mecca, a student organization dedicated to positive body image and creative fashion, to expand our HeartCare program to our nation’s capital. HeartCare is a signature Mind4Youth program that creates mental health care kits for individuals in underserved communities.

With over 20 students in attendance, we were able to create over 200 HeartCare packages.
These packages contained items like skincare products from Lush, stress toys (i.e. slime), buttons/stickers, and therapy vouchers, which will provide 3 months of free therapy for the recipients of the packages through our partnership with BetterHelp. Over the next few weeks, the Heartcare kits we created will be donated to women and children living in shelters due to homelessness or domestic violence in Washington D.C. We hope that this will help individuals who are struggling feel less alone.

Thank you to Howard University for hosting us and our event! Additionally, thank you to all of the members from both Mind4Youth and Models of the Mecca who attended!
